In Peace and Solidarity
At this time of conflict and violence, the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life reaffirms our support for Israel’s right to exist within safe and secure borders and its self-defense. We pray for an end to the suffering caused by war, for security for all the people of Israel and its region, and for a lasting peace. We offer these words from the Hashkiveinu prayer:
O God, spread your peace upon us. Guide us with your good counsel, and save us for the sake of your name. Be a shield about us, turning away every enemy, disease, violence, hunger, and sorrow. Shelter us in the shadow of your wings, for You guard and protect; You are a ruler of mercy and compassion. Blessed are you, Adonai, who spreads the shelter of peace over us, over Israel, and over all the world.
