Newly Uploaded Legacy Episodes for Jewish Book Month
In honor of Jewish Book Month, we are revisiting two legacy episodes that feature southern Jewish authors.
In Episode 24, Roanoke, Virginia, resident Samantha Rosenthal discusses her book Living Queer History: Remembrance and Belonging in a Southern City and the connections between queer and Jewish communities in the contemporary South. Samantha is Associate Professor of History and Coordinator of the Public History Concentration at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. This episode originally aired on May 31, 2022. Episode 30 highlights Elisheva Fox’s debut poetry collection, Spellbook for the Sabbath Queen, a vulnerable and raw exploration of her East Texas Jewish roots coupled with her self-described late-blooming queerness. Elisheva reflects on southern Jewish experiences as they intersect with parenthood, sexuality, climate change, grief, and finding a home. This episode originally aired on May 2, 2023. Subscribe below to make sure that you catch these episodes as they hit our new platforms. Elisheva Fox's episode will be re-released on November 30. |
