After The Holidays, What Should We Focus On? Health, Y'all!

Sim’chat Torah (joy of Torah/completion of the Torah reading cycle) has come and gone, which means the last of our marathon of autumn chagim (holidays) has concluded. In the course of one of the busiest times of the year for Jews, have you skipped exercise sessions, found yourself snacking on junk, or been overwhelmed by the tasks you’ve put off for the past few weeks/months?

Thankfully, restarting our recitation of the par’shiyot (portions) allows us to focus on something very important—our health.

Did you know that the first word in the Torah is b’reishit (“in the beginning”)? Did you know that the Hebrew word for health is b’ri-ut (health)? And, did you know that these two words are connected by the same root, bet-resh-alef? What this tells us is that it is time for the health issue of the ISJL Education Newsletter!

Whether you have been neglecting your spiritual, mental, physical, or emotional health, we have articles for you to read, including:

  • God as a Personal Trainer
  • New Health Fad – 40 Day and 40 Night Cleanse
  • Space Intentionality
  • The Importance of Our Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Health
  • Conquering the Holiday Food Scaries

Whether you need help organizing your workspace or enhancing your arteries, we hope you find some useful ways to bolster your health as we move through the school year!
